Safety

Our record of health and safety is unblemished and our zero tolerance policy is in place to protect our team of tradesmen, sub-contractors and the general public.

All work undertaken is evaluated to provide the best possible safe working environment. We strictly adhere to the relevant CDM industry safety standards and regulations at all times.

Here at 'DIS' we are committed to continually training, updating and educating our team of workers. Within our business premises and workshop, we have a purpose built training facility, to ensure standards are maintained so that our teams comply with current industry demands in relation to the installation of fire doors, fire stopping works and 'Occupational Health and Safety' requirements.

All of our personnel are 'CSCS accredited with 'NVQ's', and 'NEBOSH' general certificate in the required fields.  Our site managers all have 'SMSTS' certification and five day 'First Aider' qualifications as required by the main contractors in the industry.

We have a fully comprehensive list of all products used in the workshop and on-site, with the relative 'COSHH' and product data available on the client's request. Full traceability on materials used and there disposal is also available.

All of our tradesmen are both 'PASMA' trained and 'IPAF' certified.

Training

Here at 'DIS' we have made it our priority to educate the next generation of Joiners and Site Management Teams.Within our workshop we have a purpose built training facility to ensure standards are maintained with our team for the installation of fire doors and fire stopping works. As well as carrying out general and specific practical training for those that require it, we also ensure the our apprentices attend suitable joinery courses and training events at our local colleges of York and Selby and of course on site with a suitably qualified and professional mentor.

All of our site managers are currently trained NVQ4’s in site management and 'SMSTS' qualified.

We have successfully supported a number of apprentices through to the completion of their apprenticeships seeing them gain 'NVQ2' and 'NVQ3' qualifications in joinery. We continue to support them on site, in our workshop, and in the classroom, providing them with the technical, practical and theoretical knowledge needed to become quality tradesman of the future.
