This September DIS celebrates it's 20th Anniversary!!

From our humble beginnings working out of a garage DIS have continuously grown to become a market leading joinery and fit-out Contractor.

Working from our offices and workshop in Howden we are now capable of undertaking Projects nationwide.

DIS are BM Trada Q Mark accredited for fire door installation and inspection, CHAS Advanced and Constructionline Silver accredited. We are also members of the TDCA (Timber Decking and Cladding Association).

Direct Interior Solutions Ltd is pleased to anounce that our latest accreditation for 'Q-MARK Fire Door Installation to STD052' and 'Q-Mark Fire Door Maintenance to STD058' certification is now available on this site.

Direct Interior Solutions Ltd is pleased to anounce that towards the end of 2020 we completed all the necessary requirements to obtain the 'BMTRADA-Q-MARK' relating to 'Fire Stopping Work', 'Fire Door Installation Work' and 'Fire Door Maintenance'. This new certification for 2021 will allow us to offer additonal benefits to our Clients. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic we will have to wait for full accreditation when the pandemic allows!

We are and always have been a provider of quality materials and services when specifying and installing high performance fire doors, making sure that they fully comply or exceed the current regulations.

Our accreditaiton and certification will be available on this site when it is fully processed and made available to us.

Direct Interior Solutions Ltd during 2020 was able to complete additonal ongoing work at RAF Marham in Norfolk.

RAF Marham is the home of the F-35 Lightning a 5th Generation, multi-role, stealth fighter.

The Station is also home to a range of engineering support functions from maintenance to frontline support. Over 3600 Service Personnel, civil servants and contractors work at RAF Marham.

We supplied joinery services; fitting doors and ironmongery in various building throughout the site. In additon we supplied and fitted additonal IPS, cubicles, interior fit out works, along with roofing works on various sections of the base.

2020 has been a strange year for us all! Thankfully we were able to meet our commitments. We have remained busy throughout the year and have completed works on a number of schemes including:

• Data Centre, Belgium – works have been ongoing in the Belgium HQ where we have suppllied and installed additional fire rated fixed and sliding glazed screens.
  
  
• York City Council - Lincoln Court - Sheltered housing facilities where we were responsible for installation of joinery including doors, ironmongery and kitchen installations to all sections of the site, along with the external cladding to the new build of this project.

We would like to thank our Clients and Suppliers for their support and business over the year and look forward to working together again in 2021 and beyond.

Direct Interior Solutions Ltd has proved again that it meets the highest industry standards. In August 2020 we were awarded 'Premium Plus' accreditation by 'CHAS'.

The accreditation shows that Direct Interior Solutions has an ongoing commitment to the construction industry and its Clients to meets the high standards required of them; with adherence to rules and regulations.

Direct Interior Solutions Ltd is now a member of the 'Timber Decking and Cladding Association'.

The TDCA is an independent, not-for-profit advisory and technical organisation, formed to influence and promote good industry practice.  The TDCA is the recognised authority in the UK for all matters that relate to creating high performance, timber decking and cladding structures. 

Membership of the TDCA involves a surveillance audit of our Quality Management Systems, ensuring our commitment to supplying excellent products and services.

As 2019 draws to a close we reflect on a busy and successful year at Direct Interior Solutions.We have completed works on a number of schemes over the year including:

• University of Leeds, Innovation Centre – installation of doors, ironmongery, hardwood skirtings and kitchen installations.
  
  
• Centre for Applied Health Research, Bradford -  Joinery inc doors and ironmongery, kitchen installations, interior fit out works including upholstered linings, bespoke hardwood joinery including ash staircase, window linings and ash cladding.
  
  
• Data Centre, Belgium – supply and installation of fire rated fixed and sliding glazed screens.
  
  
• Euroauctions, Selby – Joinery inc supply and installation of doors and ironmongery, partitions and plastering, fire rated glazed screens, mezzanine floor installations, supply and install of ash reception desk and counters.

Direct Interior Solutions have secured a number of projects which will commence in 2020. One of these contracts involves working on the refurbishment of exsisiting buildings and the new build at 'Lincoln Court Care Home' in York. Work by the main contractor 'Sewell Construction' is now progressing.

Direct Interior Solutions are nearing completion of works (December 2019) on the interior of the newly constructed 'Euro Auctions' UK offices and auction site, located between Leeds and Goole at Kellington DN14 0NY.

DIS worked closely with the construction team at Euro Auctions to fit out 3 new state of the art facilities at this large auction site. DIS helped develop the design and provide expertise throughout the project.

Direct Interior Solutions have just completed (June 2019) work on the interior of the newly constructed 'Wolfson Centre for Applied Health Research' located at the Bradford Royal Infirmary, West Yorkshire.

Health researchers, as well as clinicians who work daily with patients from the area, will be based at the centre. It will allow the research to be put into practice by clinical staff on site to help provide better health and social care for people across Yorkshire.

Direct Interior Solutions have now commenced work at the prestigious NAIC building at Warwick University and are delighted to have been appointed by Balfour Beatty for works to the innovative acoustic ceilings.

The National Automotive Innovation Centre will provide a critical mass of research capability combining automotive expertise nationally and internationally.

£150 million is being invested in the NAIC capital building and its research activities through a long-term commitment between Jaguar Land Rover, Tata Motors European Technical Centre, WMG and the University of Warwick.

During 2016 we relocated to improve our offices and manufacturing production facilities. We have purchased new premises, which are considerably larger than our previous rented office and workshop site. This will allow our business to grow and cater to a greater demand for our services.

The new premises are situated near the market town of 'Howden' in East Yorkshire. Our premises are very close to the motorway network; allowing quick and easy travel to and from any part of the country.

Our new office also has the benefit of a dedicated meeting and conference room at first floor level. Our extensive workshop is situated at ground floor level; we have improved our manufacturing capacity with updated equipment and storage facilities.

Direct Interior Solutions has proved again that it meets the highest industry standards as part of an internationally recognised audit, carried out by Achilles Building Confidence.

In April 2016, Direct Interior Solutions again obtained the Achilles accreditation, a demanding assessment of its compliance in all operational areas of construction, quality control, sustainability and health and safety.
